Rosa's Bakes is a little bakery with a short menu and a long proof. Cakes, buns and bread made by hand in small batches, Tuesday to Sunday.

We bake in the early hours, so the first trays are out by opening. When we sell out, we close the doors early.

A few of our treats

The counter changes with the season. These are the ones people come back for.

  • Brown butter chocolate chip cookies

    Thick, chewy, a little salty. Baked in the morning and again at noon.

  • Cinnamon morning buns

    Laminated overnight, rolled with cinnamon sugar, finished with orange zest.

  • Lemon olive oil cake

    Dense, bright and not too sweet. Sold by the slice, or whole by request.

  • Country sourdough

    Long-fermented, dark crust, open crumb. Loaves come out mid-morning.

  • Seasonal fruit galette

    Whatever is best that week, folded into an all-butter pastry.

  • Cardamom knots

    Soft, knotted by hand, dusted with pearl sugar. Our Saturday favourite.

Custom cakes

Birthdays, christenings, a Tuesday that needs a cake. Tell us the date, how many people it's for and what you have in mind, and Rosa will come back to you with ideas and a price.

Please give us at least a week for custom orders, and two for anything tiered.
